We are seeking a strategic, operationally minded Vice President of Clinical Recruitment to lead the continued growth and scalability. Here are some of the duties you will be responsible for:
Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the VP of Clinical Recruitment will work in close collaboration with the C-Suite leadership to develop and execute a forward-thinking clinical recruitment and workforce strategy that enables expansion into new markets, supports service line development, and strengthens physician engagement and retention.
This is a high-impact role that blends recruitment strategy with operational and business acumen, ideal for a healthcare senior leader who understands not just how to recruit top clinical talent, but how to align that talent strategy with market opportunities, growth goals, and organizational scale.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Growth Initiatives:
- Lead the national strategy for full-cycle recruitment of gastroenterologists and advanced practice providers (APPs), clinical recruitment across multiple markets, specialties, and care delivery models.
- Build and evolve a data-driven provider growth roadmap in partnership with Business Development, Clinical, and Operational leaders.
- Drive competitive differentiation in candidate experience, value proposition, and onboarding.
Operational & Business Integration:
- Collaborate with Operations and Finance to ensure recruitment strategies align with clinical productivity goals, capacity modeling, and market demand.
- Build scalable recruitment operations, processes, and platforms to support a multi-state, high-growth environment.
- Utilize workforce models and provider forecasting tools that help leaders make informed decisions about where and when to recruit.
Executive & Cross-Functional Partnership:
- Act as a trusted advisor to the C-Suite, bringing clinical workforce intelligence to strategic discussions.
- Regularly participate in M&A diligence, strategic planning, and new market entry discussions.
- Collaborate with the CMO and clinical leadership to ensure provider alignment with practice goals, culture, and quality of care expectations.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Build and lead a high-performing clinical recruitment team with specialized knowledge in gastroenterology and APP hiring.
- Develop training, performance metrics, and career pathways for recruitment team members.
- Create a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement within the recruitment function.
Analytics, Metrics & Reporting:
- Design and maintain dashboards to track KPIs such as time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, retention, and pipeline health.
- Use workforce and market analytics to inform recruitment priorities and predict hiring needs by market.
- Partner with Finance and Operations to support provider staffing models and productivity forecasts.
Provider Engagement, Culture & Retention:
- Develop physician engagement and retention strategies in collaboration with HR and clinical leadership.
- Support onboarding, mentorship, and physician leadership development programs.
- Ensure a high-quality provider experience that supports long-term alignment and satisfaction.
Minimum Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in clinical or physician recruitment, with a strong operational and strategic orientation.
- Proven experience leading high-performing teams, with a strong, motivational leadership style that inspires and drives success
- Prior experience in a private equity-backed healthcare organization, large specialty medical group, or multi-site provider system is highly preferred.
- Deep understanding of physician workforce strategy, provider compensation models, and growth-oriented recruitment in a multi-state environment.
- Demonstrated ability to partner with C-suite leaders across departments, especially Business Development, Operations, and Finance.
- Proven success leading recruitment through periods of rapid growth, integration, or geographic expansion.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into strategy.
- Experience building and leading high-performing teams.
- Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred.

- Experience working in physician practice management or a multi-specialty healthcare organization.
