Gastro Health is seeking a Full-Time Lead Histology Technician to join our team!

Duties you will be responsible for:
- Work with the Medical Director, pathologists, histotechs and laboratory assistants to maintain expected turnaround times.
- Maintain histotech schedules.
- Provide guidance to histotechs and lab assistants; mentor and train new personnel when needed.
- Maintain current knowledge of changes in laboratory procedures.
- Adhere to all established requirements that pertain to testing, laboratory personnel and safety as established by the department.
- Check all maintenance charts for deviations and errors; maintain quality assurance checks, logs and reports.
- Perform required laboratory validations (lots, reagents, etc.)
- Be knowledgeable of all aspects of the department. Be able to perform all aspects of the laboratory process.
- Trouble-shoot laboratory equipment and instrumentation; contact service providers as necessary
- Fill in as the Safety Officer when needed.
- Perform all job related duties assigned by the Medical director and pathologists.
Minimum Requirements:
- B.S degree or equivalent combination of education, experience and certification
- HT (ASCP) certification and a minimum of 7 years experience
- Familiar with histology instrumentation, including staining instruments, coverslippers, tissue processors embedding and cutting equipment
- Prior experience in a CAP accredited laboratory is highly desirable
