Outpatient and Inpatient role - Monday thru Friday
Average 20 patients per day
Shared hospital call
Job Duties
Schedule: Monday – Friday, with a mix of outpatient care center consults, follow-ups, and inpatient rounding.
Responsibilities:
Conduct outpatient consultations and follow-ups at the care center, evaluating and managing patients with colorectal conditions.
Perform inpatient rounding on post-operative and acute care patients, coordinating care with hospital teams.
Examine, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients with acute and chronic colorectal conditions, collaborating with supervising physicians as needed.
Order, interpret, and diagnose based on lab tests, pathology results, and imaging studies.
Assist in perioperative care, including pre-op assessments, post-op monitoring, and management of surgical complications.
Provide patient education and counseling on treatment plans, surgical procedures, and post-operative care.
Write and manage prescriptions appropriate to the diagnosis and treatment plan.
Document patient encounters accurately and promptly in eClinicalWorks and hospital EMR systems.
Collaborate with the colorectal surgery and gastroenterology teams to ensure continuity of care.
Perform bedside procedures as appropriate to the scope of practice and hospital privileges.
Participate in multidisciplinary team discussions for complex cases.
Other duties related to colorectal surgery and gastroenterology as assigned.
Candidate Requirements
Active NP or PA license in the state of Florida
NPs: at least one year of full-time experience in an acute care setting as an APRN -or- one-year post-master degree residency in acute care
Certification as an advanced practice provider with prescriptive authority
GI experience preferred
Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
Ability to build strong working relationships with the healthcare team
